Edmonton is located in western Canada, in the province of Alberta, and is well-connected to major hubs across the country and around the world.

Flying Into Edmonton

Edmonton International Airport (YEG) offers direct connections from several regions:

• From Europe: Direct year-round service from Amsterdam (KLM), with seasonal direct flights from Reykjavik (WestJet).

• From the United States: Direct flights from a number of major cities, including Seattle, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Minneapolis, and San Francisco (seasonal), among others.

• From Asia: While YEG doesn't currently offer direct flights from Asia, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is a well-connected gateway with extensive Asian routes and frequent, convenient connections on to Edmonton.

Connecting Through Major Canadian Cities

If a direct flight to Edmonton doesn't align with your travel plans, Vancouver (YVR), Calgary (YYC), Montreal (YUL), and Toronto (YYZ) are all excellent entry points into Canada. These are among the country's busiest and best-connected airports, with frequent onward flights to Edmonton throughout the day.

Getting from the Airport to the City

Edmonton International Airport is located about 30 minutes south of downtown Edmonton and the University of Alberta campus. Options for getting into the city include:

• Airport shuttle: Direct shuttle service connects the airport to major downtown hotels.

• Public transit: The ETS Airport Bus (Route 747) runs between the airport and downtown, connecting to Edmonton's LRT (light rail transit) system.

• Taxi and rideshare: Taxis and rideshare services are readily available outside the terminal.

• Car rental: Major car rental agencies operate directly out of the airport.

Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate documentation to enter Canada. Please check the requirements for your citizenship well in advance of the conference and allow sufficient time to obtain any necessary visa or eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
